- Akademi came officially in support of writers and passed resolution to condemn the killing of Professor Kalburgi,thinkers,intellectuals and rising violence against fellow citizens.
- Akademi urges the writers to keep awards and asked govt. to maintain the ambience of “peaceful coexistence”

2)Supreme
court(SC) verdict on law of inheritance in properties.
- SC,while dealing with various judgements of HCs on Hindu Succession(Amendment) Act,2005 ruled that coparceners rights are applicable to “living daughters of living coparceners as on Sep. 2005(date of amendment)".It means that inheritance law is “prospective” and daughter should be alive and his father should also be alive on the date of amendment.
- It can have a cascading effect on matters of inheritance in ancestral properties with regard to equal rights for daughters.

steps to damage control with regard to pulse price inflation.
- Asked Kendriya Bhandars and Mother Dairy outlets to sell tur at reasonable price.
- Moots direct procurement of pulses from farmers at market rates.
- Decides to build a 40,000-tonne buffer stock of pulses from 2015-16 karif marketing season.
- Thrust to law enforcement agencies to restrict pulse hoarding.
4)India
raised concerns against US-PAK bonhomie:
- India raised concerns against American appreciation for Pakistan’s anti-terror operations and American to provide eight F-16 aircraft to the Pakistan Air force and stated that it will affect regional stability in South Asia(as Pakistan is already the largest owner of nuclear weapons in South Asia).
- India also expressed reservations about the American support to secure finances for Diamer-Bhasha and Dasu dams in Gilgit Baltistan which comes under “illegal occupation of Pakistan”.
- Apart from that USA termed “terrorism as mutual concern” between India and Pakistan(as recently Pakistan also blaming India for supporting terrorism inside Pakistan which seems to be surprising)

Basu elected as new chief of Atomic Energy Commission(AEC):

- Basu is also credited for development of 80 Mwt PWR(pressurised water reactor ) which propels Arihant and contribution Indian Neutrino Observatory which is to come up in T.N.
- AEC:AEC is the governing body of Dept. of Atomic Energy,set up in 1948 to look after atomic energy activities in India through research,training,promoting nuclear research .
7)CVC(Central
Vigilance Commission) asked CVOs(Chief Vigilance Officers ) in organisations to
do away with outdated processes to check corruption.

What is meant by a law is prospective ?
