What it is:
- Biennial report(since 1987) published by Forest Survey of India(FSI).
- Describes forest and tree cover ,growing stock within and outside of the forest,carbon stock.
- So far 13 such reports have been published and this one is the 14th assessment.
- Forest cover assessment is carried out using remote sensing technology.
